Late last year, Nexon announced that they were working on an MMO game based on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Yesterday, they held a production presentation covering a brief overview of the game as well as a possible release timeframe.
The game is dubbed as an FPS style game, focusing on action and gunfights, but also other elements from the anime series, such as hacking, and gathering information on the battlefield. The game will attempt to replicate the tension of battle from the anime.
Players will be able to customize their characters through the use of prosthetics, and the Tachikoma will also make an appearance. There will be both PvE and PvP gameplay.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC online is set for release sometime in the first half of 2014. There’s no news on whether there’ll be a western release yet, but your dreams of roleplaying a pantless female law-enforcement cyborg may yet come true.
Mmmh, I saw an ad on an Italian website – Multiplayer.it – but this is more interesting … Question: they have released a video? Some details of the game? A page online?
It has no connection with the new series dedicated to GTS, right?
@Debris
No video or official site yet. The game will be based off the existing Stand Alone Complex anime and not the Arise prequel.
